It would be hard to get cuter than this. I just feel that this shoot with Nicole and her son, Kaden, was magical. The photos really showed the mood of the day. He was totally fine with just laying there in the grass. We kept calling him a little hippie (There's nothing wrong with that by any means as you who know me know). Every once in a while during shooting he would just up and decide he wanted to take in the park and just lay on his tummy.

Even though the weather lately has been almost unbearable, this morning in Centennial Park wasn't that bad. Audra, Tae and I, along with their entourage (thanks ladies!) were very thankful for the constant breeze. I'm not saying it was cool, but it was nice enough to enjoy a shoot in the park. This day was a little sticky in the heat and that the little boy in the photos did not like me at all. (his mother said he doesn't like anyone with a camera) His sister was having the time of her life, but not him. :-) I do have to admit, however, that one of my favorites is him looking at me with his arms crossed. He was pouting at me "no!" when he was posing for that photo. The one with the two of them captured something special, I think. It just looks like they are in a world that only brothers and sisters know exist.

Other than it being a little too hot and us having to climb a small mountain (thanks to Jenny and my training, I didn't need oxygen at the top) the shoot turned out great. Despite them saying over and over again that they weren't photogenic, they are one of the most photogenic couples I've had.

This was the first time I photographed an engagement at Stone Mountain Park. It was a blast. Even though it was a cool 94 degrees, Dana kept the ac going in the car while we rode around searching for spots. (thank you so much, Dana. Melinda had a glamorous, movie star feel to her on her wedding day. She was stunning and I wanted to have that feel to her photos. Melinda and Jose together, however, had a more lively and fun feel. With all of the rain delays and thunderstorms through out the day, I'd say we got some pretty great stuff! The colors were vibrant and the sun stayed behind clouds (which I LOVE). Izzie's First Easter Egg Hunt!

Izabella is my boyfriend's niece and is the cutest child I've ever seen. (I'm not bias or anything) This was her first Easter Egg Hunt! The whole time she would walk/run to the next egg saying "oooooh". She would shake it and then put it in her basket. It was really quite something to witness. I love to take photos of everything even though it may be from my iPhone and not the best quality. I got a visit from the Easter Bunny on Sunday, early in the morning. (which is why I didn't have the energy to get up and get my pro camera set up) First a trail of nuts led me from my bedroom to my front porch. What could have left these nuts all over the place? Chip and Dale of course. Once I got back to my bedroom, smiling of course, I opened the blinds to let the in the morning light. An easter basket was hanging out side! Yea! Laying among the Reester egg and Reester Bunny (made by Reese's) was my first Birdhouse! A great Easter morning! Later in the day we were visited by Wine Connoisseur Bunny (aka. My cousin Chris Clabough) I hope your Easter was as fun and eventful as mine!

This past Saturday, I actually attended a wedding as a friend. I did not bring my big burtha of a camera, but instead used my boyfriend's little point and shoot. Us being ill prepared, though, resulted in us taking only a couple of photos before the battery died. No matter. . .I FINALLY got a photo of Chris in his full suit. (a photo that, in the past, was as mythical as his nick name, "Yeti") YEA! P.S. we had already been on the dance floor for a bit. . .hence the red face.

This was my first time photographing Ella. She was too cute, however, her parents told me that she smiles and laughs all of the time. . .most of the day, in fact. We finally caught a smile towards the end. I told them that she was just being "fierce" as Tyra Banks always puts it. I'm thinking she'll be a model when she grows up. If you were anywhere near Peachtree City last Friday, it is likely that your tv programs were interrupted by constant tornado warnings. The sirens (which, by the way, scare me every time because they sound like banshees outside of my house) went off 3 times. It was a huge storm that was followed by a magnificent day on Saturday. Kristen and Blake got lucky in that aspect, however, everything was wet. It was a challenge not getting them too dirty and wet, but we managed to leave with minimal dirt. Thank you Kristen and Blake! Great shoot!

Photo Fun!

With today's economy being what it is, people are coming up with alternative ways to have fun with friends. I have been going the traditional rout of having friends over for dinner as opposed to going out. Not too long ago I had a few friends over for dinner and it turned into an evening of photo fun. :-) In the early photo classes of college, one learns how to drag the shutter. I'll explain how to do this. Try it at home! (children under 13 ask your parents first) If you have a manual camera (meaning manual adjustments, not focus) place it on a tripod in an extremely dark area. Adjust the shutter speed to "bulb". Someone needs to stand by the camera to hold the shutter button down. Once the shutter button is held down, use flashlights or (in this case) sparklers to make whatever pattern your heart desires. :-) Have fun!

Kristen and Chris just got hitched Saturday! It was a beautiful day smack in the middle of horrible weather. Someone was definitely looking out for them, including the amazing sunset in the middle of the party. She was stunning and he was so happy. We laughed and cryed all day. . .mainly laughed. :-) It was a Peachtree City wedding that started out at Christ our Shepherd Lutherin Church and immediately following: a caravan of golf carts headed to Flat Creek. It was great fun! So much fun, in fact, the party was extended 1 hour because it was just too early for the party to stop. It was a great way to kick off the wedding season! Thanks and have a blast on your honeymoon! On a side note: I must say that his dip was legendary! Guys. . .take a look and take notes. ;-)

It's our favorite spiky haired boy! GAVIN! He was so cute (Especially the flip flops) and had so much energy that day, it was hard for me to keep up with him. Once we pulled out the bubbles, however, he wouldn't have any photos without them. :-) We had fun trying to find ways to hide the bubbles, like in the Easter basket, but for the most part they made it in most of the photos. Which, to me, is great! It really reflects that time in a child's life when blowing bubbles is the greatest thing in the world. Thanks Maryelle and Gavin. :-)

I had the BEST time photographing Jenna and Craig at Serenbe the other day. If you don't know what or where Serenbe is please visit their web site at www.serenbecommunity.com. We had so much fun, in fact, that I'm offering an engagement Serenbe package. The cost is going to be $300 in stead of the regular $150 for an engagement sitting, but the community charges extra to photograph there. Believe me, however, it's worth it! My Best Friend's Wedding

Since this is my first post in a long time and indicates new beginnings in Stephanie Hamlet Photography, I thought it should be about my best friend's recent new beginning.

Rochelle Turner married Sean "Slash" Donahue on February 20th.

She called me to tell me the great news while I was out of state camping in the everglades of Florida. My boyfriend didn't know what to do since all he saw was me answer the phone, say "Hey, Ro!" and then start crying uncontrollably. I was so happy for her at that moment. Ever since we were 4 years old, we've been like sisters and this was the begining of a HUGE chapter in her life.

She was to marry the perfect guy for her, they were to get hitched in Charleston, S.C., Lani (her neice) was to be flower girl, her sister to be Matron of Honor and I was to be Maid of Honor. Not photographer. :-) All though I LOVE photographing weddings to no end, I was happy she knew that I wouldn't be able to put the camera down enough to fully enjoy what she and Slash had created.

The first part of the day was filled with champaign, music and TONS of laughter. I'll never forget sipping champaign while getting pedicures and laughing so hard the other patrons of the spa couldn't fully enjoy their massages. Oh well. That's how we've been since 1985.

I kept my cool for the most part of the day. Little spurts of tears came through all throughout the day, but it was hardest to hold it in when she started walking down the isle to "In My Life" by the Beatles. I swear my jaw was clinched tight, so as not to cry. I thought I was going to break my teeth. Looking across the way, I noticed her brother doing the same. She was absolutely stunning as I always knew she would be.

The evening was filled with more champaign, more music and more laughter as we celebrated until they kicked us out.

It was a day I'll always remember. I love you both, Ro, and couldn't be happier for you. Thank you for an amazing weekend and life.

This had to be one of the most fun bridal shoots I've had. Anna was accompanied by her mother, mother in law and aunt to help out with her beautiful, yet very long, veil. I absolutely LOVE shooting for Etain Bridal Boutique. I get to play with beautiful and unique dresses and have a blast with Penny and Nicole (the owners). We always seem to come up with creative, new ideas to showcase their dresses. This shoot was no exception.
