This is the time of year when I get a tiny chance to breath, but the work never stops. I've been going through past shoots wondering about new products and samples. I came across the bridal shoot of Katie Rentz/Hawkins. She met with me and said she wanted her bridal portraits to taken with her long time friend, Raven. . .Raven is a horse. I immediately sat up with excitement. It was going to be something completely different. She has been riding Raven since she was a little girl. They essentially grew up together. During the shoot, I caught tiny glimpses of the deep relationship between Katie and Raven. I've photographed horses for fun on my Uncle's farm before, but nothing like this.
In my final edit of the shoot, many of the photos were turned sepia. The whole feel of the day and the spirit between the two called for such a muted tone to let the emotion shine through. These are a few of my favorites. The one in color turned out to be an almost exact replica of the family's favorite childhood photo of Katie.
I am so appreciative to Katie and her family for granting me access to one of the most beautiful relationships I've seen. . .a girl and her horse.

Your photos are great, I like alot of what you do as far as portraits and the wedding photos, you have a good art for what you are doing and the imaginary form of the pictures is something I would never have thought of. Keep up the great work, and maybe some day I will have you doing my family portraits!!! Sherri
